But there is a danger in pushing
boundaries. If we don’t view boundaries correctly we won’t push them
correctly. And if we don’t push them correctly, we won’t grow correctly. So it
is imperative that our view of boundaries is properly aligned with God’s
perspective.
However, a right perception of
boundaries can be difficult to obtain. Our natural inclination is toward
extremes, rather than balance. Our view of boundaries is not immune to this
propensity. Rather, we tend to swing to one of two extremes: boundaries as dispensable
guidelines or boundaries as inviolable boxes. We’ll look at each more in depth
over the next month.
