Andrew Peterson's books, like Jonathan Rogers's, are also high adventure fantasies written for the middle-grade and tween bracket. Being a song writer, Mr. Peter infuses his prose with a great cadence, making these stories great read-alouds. The tongue-in-cheek humor found in most of the books also provides a lot of smiles along the way. Again, I was attracted to these stories for their lack of preaching. Though a bit darker in content than the Wilderking, especially toward the end, these novels have much to offer younger readers.
