Who Am I?

Caucasian by race
American by birth
Suburbanite by location
but
Fallen by inheritance.

Female by gender
Heavy-set by build
Ordinary by genetics
but
Evil by choice

Blue-collar by work
Middle-class by economics
High-school grad by education
but
Selfish by instinct

Teacher by gifting
Storyteller by nature
Scribe by trade
but
Sinful by inclination

Then

Saved by faith
Cleansed by blood
Forgiven by Christ
Loved by God

Now

New by rebirth
Freed by truth
Sealed by the Spirit
Growing by grace

Princess by election
Servant by calling
Foreigner by citizenship
Heir by adoption

Belonging to God forever

This was a great poem! It was simple, succint, yet also strikes a cord within which I think most of us can identify with.

Thanks, Tracy. I write these poems often for my own edification, then post them in hopes someone else might find something encouraging in them too. So I'm glad to hear this one struck a chord.
